Shivagange Hills

Shivagange Hills, was one of my “To Visit” places. Even though I am in Bangalore from few years, I never visited this place. I and my friend decided to go on our motorcycles early morning of 12th April 2015. Though we wanted to start 5 am, we started at 5.30 am (IPL fever, previous night RCB match! )
SUMMARY:Place: Shivaganga/Shivagange Hills
Location: 65km from Bangalore towards Tumkur
Type:Hill, Rock, Boulders
Trekking Duration: Will not take more than 1.5 to 2 hours
Best Time: May be early morning/Not sure about it.
Note: There are lots and lots of monkeys throughout the way. They snatch food items if you take it out.  (But they never harm you, unless you hit them !! )
Short video of Shivaganga Hills.

Shivagange is approximately 65km from Bangalore. It did not take more than 2 hours ride to arrive the place with average speed 40-50 km and couple of pit stops. We reached the place at 7 am.

Shivagana Hill - A view from far
Our Motorcycles
As soon as we parked, a person came to us and collected parking fee of 5 Rs (He said money goes to annual temple fest). Couple of water bottle is enough to ascend this hill. It is common here to see people ascend this hill on bare foot. Good thing about the place is, there are proper steps to ascend. I found plenty of shops selling cucumber, mango, water bottles and many more food items throughout my way. 10 Rs you get 2 piece of cucumber. Vendors usually open their shops after 7.30 am. Therefore, if you ascend very early you many not find them. There are many little temples on the way. Location is purely rocky area.

Once I reached the top, I felt, how little I am . Marvelous landscape view made me to halt my mind for a while and just relax!! . Slow pleasant wind made me to forget everything else. Enjoyed the view for an hour and started descending.
Forgot to mention, there was a stone that could weigh 25-30 kg approximately.  People say if you can lift it at one shot, your desired wish comes true very easily. I did try!
